DILLWYN – James L. “Pete” Apperson Jr., 86, passed away peacefully at his farm in Buckingham county March 1, 2010.
He served in the Marine Corps in World War II and was an active member of Rocky Mount United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Florence “Flo” Anne Apperson; his daughters and their husbands, Babette Anne Apperson and Richard Floyd of Lynchburg, Nanette Anne Apperson and Don Williamson of Bethesda, Md.; granddaughter and husband Laura Anne and Jason Cain and great-granddaughters Taylor Anne and Kaitlyn Michelle.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church in Dillwyn with interment in the church cemetery.
