Warm Springs, VA- The red-hot Bath County Chargers were in action again this past Friday at Carl F. Williams Field. The Chargers were trying to remain undefeated after winning ten in a row and earning the Pioneer District title.

Bath County now has their eyes on winning the Region Championship, an achievement the Bath County Chargers have not obtained in a decade. In their first post-season game last week, the Chargers looked great against Fort Chiswell, taking the win with a score of 42-6. This win put them on a collision course with the team they had to defeat to earn the district title, the Green Wave from Narrows.

In their first game, Narrows started off strong, giving up one score before taking the Charger kickoff to the house 74 yards, but the talented offense and defense eventually shone through, and the Chargers took charge beating Narrows with a final score of 49-12. Unfortunately for the Chargers, this time though they had to take them on without two of their powerhouses, Braiden Mabe on defense and their star running back Ethan Bryant. Both received injuries during the win over Fort Chiswell.

Bath won the coin toss and chose to receive the opening kickoff.

Bath started off from the 38-yard line. Luke Turner carried the first handoff for five yards which got them off to a good start. Bath got themselves into a bind and were looking at fourth down with three yards to gain. Luckily Superman wears a Chargers jersey.

Wyatt Campbell would not be denied as he worked himself down the field for a fifteen-yard gain. From there, the Chargers methodically worked their way down the field and scored on a Campbell 4-yard run. After going nowhere on the kickoff return, Narrows offense started moving the ball good until a couple great defensive plays from Bath County put the Green Wave in a fourth-and 4 yard to gain situation. Narrows went for the first but the man on a mission, Jeremy Burn, broke through and tackled them for a loss giving it to the Chargers on downs.

Luke turner had two good carries for 12 and then 14 yards before Campbell pulled out the S on his chest and broke free for a 27-yard touchdown. which was his second of seven on the night.

The entire team played great all evening long and the Chargers came out on top 49-14.

The Chargers will face Grayson County this upcoming Friday afternoon at 3:30PM at Carl F Williams field for the regional championship.
