Warm Springs, Va- The Bath County Chargers continued their season of domination this past Friday night.

With a win at home against the Fort Chiswell Pioneers, the Chargers began the playoffs by doing exactly what they have done all season “Winning.”

This sets them up for a semifinal showdown with the team they defeated two weeks ago to secure the district title. The Chargers will face the Narrows Green Wave at home in their next step towards winning the region.

The Green Wave have had a good season just like the Chargers. Unlike Bath County though, Narrows has experienced a few losses on their road to the playoffs. They currently have a record of 6-4.

Narrows has played a tough schedule this season and have come up short against some good teams. Teams like Holston, James Monroe, and Honaker have gotten the better of them this season. The only team in the Pioneer District to come out on top against them is the Bath County Chargers who beat them 49-12 in week nine of the season.

The Green Wave came out swinging in their first matchup and were the first team to stun the Chargers for the first few minutes of play. Bath scored the first points in the matchup, but Narrows defense made them earn every yard. The Green Wave took their first kickoff and returned it almost 80 yards and scored. Bath seemed to wake up after the returned kick though and were in charge after that.

Because the Chargers earned the number one seed this season, this matchup will take place on Bath County’s field and quite possibly adding to the Chargers’ advantage.

The game will kick off at 7:00PM and will be the Chargers’ last home game of the season. If you have not been able to make it to one of the Chargers’ games this season, do not miss your final chance.
