COVINGTON- The JV squads from Alleghany and Carroll County entertained fans on Thursday, Oct. 10 and provided a nice appetizer before the varsity contest the night after.

Unfortunately for the Cougars, they suffered a close, but hard-fought 22-20 loss to the Cavaliers.

Even though Alleghany did not pull off the victory, the story of the night was their star running back, Buddy Leisure-White.

White scored all three of his touchdowns–and all the points the Cougars had– in the first quarter on scoring runs of 76, 65, and 57 yards.

White, who also dresses and has scored for the varsity Cougars this year as well, was a one-man, unstoppable force in the first half.

The Cougars led 20-14 at halftime, but a touchdown and 2-point conversion for the Cavs in the second half sealed the victory for the road team.

Kenton Kirby caught a 2-point pass in the opening quarter for the Cougars as well.
