MT. SIDNEY – Ardith “Micky” Louisa Eddins, 86, of Mt. Sidney, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Augusta Health.
She was born in West Virginia August 12, 1923 and was the daughter of the late John A. and Nellie Blankenship Franson.
Ardith graduated from Bath County High School and worked for DuPont and Shipplett’s Cleaners before retiring. She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Edwin C. Eddins preceded her in death October 18, 1992.
She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Delphia Williams, Dulcie Chestnut, Ida Simpkins, Mary Belle Franson, Lovisa Hodge; two brothers, John Franson Jr. and James Franson.
Ardith is survived by two brothers, Ernest Franson and wife, Phyllis of Covington, William Franson and wife, Cecille of Staunton; three sisters-in-law, Annie C. Eddins of Harrisonburg, LaRue “Bitsy” Saufley of Grottoes, Naomi Anderson of Winchester; a brother-in-law, Warren Saufley and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday at Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brad McMullen officiating. Burial was at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery.
