In true celebration of the church, an army of leaders and volunteers from around the area hosted rising 6th graders through recent graduates for a 5-day event that included fun activities, team building, worship, and an informative nightly panel discussion based on the theme “Read Your Bible.” Nightly discussions and bible study groups emphasized how important it is to read the Bible in order to grow and mature spiritually.

For over 40 years, Teen Week has offered a variety of events to engage teens in worship and bible study in prayerful hope that more teens would know the unconditional love of Jesus. The 2024 event is the culmination of months of collaboration and planning by area churches including Covington Bible, Faith Baptist, First Christian Church, Grace Brethern and several out of town churches also.
Teen Week 2024 included a day at Intervale Boat Launch where teens enjoyed an extreme water slide, river tubing, a cardboard boat regatta, and a sloppy obstacle course. Teens moved to First Christian Church on Monday and took turns playing real life Mario Cart and Fortnite along with 9 Square and basketball. Tuesday night, teens attended Covington Bible for a teen favorite, Silent Disco and an interactive escape room.

Wednesday, Faith Baptist Church hosted area teens for a concert by Jospeh O’Brien. O’Brien is a Liberty University alum and a former contestant on America’s Got Talent, launching his Christian music career soon after. Teens celebrated the end of the week at Main Street park, Covington with a pool party and outdoor games.

Each night, teens were provided dinner, a themed specialty drink, participated in worship, and joined in small group Bible study. Teen Week 2024 offered a new twist by introducing Bible verses and discussion in podcast format from a three person panel that included Nic Lomasney, Ethan Appell, and Judy Hensley. Tristan Brown and Judy Hensley headlined worship each night singing a variety of well known praise songs.

Teen Week leaders and volunteers welcomed 120-140 teens each night during the week.
