Of special interest at the regular meeting of the Iron Gate Town Council was the resignation of Town Attorney Jared Jenkins. In a letter dated July
19, Jenkins cited reasons previously mentioned for bringing on the resignation, as well as his resignation as a member of the Virginia State Bar. Jenkins said all this made him unable to continue as town attorney. Mayor Gary Craig asked for and received permission to seek a new town attorney on a unanimous roll call vote.
Mayor Craig brought up that among the complaints received was that of a Mustang revving its engine on 220 and opening up. Residents have been unable to sleep and/or woken up by it. The Mayor stated he had spoken with the gentleman and asked him not to do it so now it would be turned over to the sheriff’s office.
Mayor Gary Craig said there was a lot of thanks to give out, especially to one specific person who should know who they were.
