The Alleghany County Parks and Recreation Department is taking free registrations for fall youth sports online through the month of June.
Registrations are being accepted for football (ages 7-13), flag football (ages 5-6), cheerleading (ages 8-13) and girls basketball (ages 7-13). Ages are based on children’s age on October 1.
Returning users can log into their accounts and new users can register and create a new account to sign up their children at www.alleghanycountyrecreation.com/acpr.
“We do want to address the COVID-19 situation as well at this point in the process,” said Nehemiah Vance, recreation assistant supervisor. “Right now, we plan to start our fall sports in our normal time frame. However, the situation is fluid and can change based on a number of variables. Despite that, we encourage everyone to go ahead and sign up right now. Registrations are free until the end of June, so there will be no issue if your child can’t participate or our season gets pushed back or canceled.”
