Alleghany Well Represented on Boys and Girls All-TRD Teams

LOW MOOR – In their first boys’ and girls’ basketball seasons as a joint school since the merger, a total of 11 student athletes were awarded with honors on the All-Three Rivers basketball teams.
 
From the boys’ basketball team, a total of seven players were named to the All-TRD team: two on the first team, one on the second, and four as an honorable mention.
 
Chris Harden and Xzavier Hayslett were both named to the All-TRD first team. During the regular season, Harden led the Cougars in scoring with 10.9 points per game, while Hayslett averaged eight.
 
Eli Entsminger was the lone Cougar on the All-TRD second team. 
 
Kole Caldwell, Hunter DePriest, Purcel Turner, and Anthony Webb, each were All-TRD honorable mentions.
 
Carroll County’s Davis Reitzel was the boys district player of the year, while the Cavaliers head coach Anthony Barnes was named the district coach of the year.
 
On the girls’ side of the All-TRD, Alleghany finished with four players earning the honors.
 
Macyn Cash and Bryce Leitch reached the first team All-TRD. Cash, during the regular season, led the Lady Cougars in scoring with 11.4 points per game, while Leitch was second in scoring on the team with 10.6.
 
Representing the Cougars on the girls All-TRD second team were Abbie Fridley and Kelsey Nicely. Fridley averaged just under eight points per game with 7.7, while Nicely scored just below seven a game with 6.9. 
 
Alyssa Ervin from Carroll County was named the girls district player of the year, while the Cavaliers head coach Marc Motley was named the coach of the year.
