The Kiwanis Club of the Jackson River Area has announced that the “Duck Race,” originally scheduled for Saturday, July 29, has been postponed to Saturday, August 12. The reason for postponement was due to recent storms in our area causing the waters at the Jackson River to rise.
All other details surrounding the “Duck Race” remain the same. The specially made ducks will be released around noon in the Jackson River, starting at the Rose Dale Bridge in Covington, and end on Maple Avenue. Tickets can still be purchased until August 9th through Pam Warren and cost $5 each. Last-minute tickets will be available for purchase on the day of the race, beginning at 11 a.m. Folks are free to buy more than one if they choose.
There are four prizes available. First place will receive $500, second place, $250, third place, $100, and the last place winner will receive $50. Contact Pam Warren at 540-969-6764 for additional information.
