STAUNTON – Former Alleghany High School left-handed pitching ace, Halen Lowman made his Valley League (VBL) debut on Sunday, July 16th for the Staunton Braves.
In his VBL debut, Lowman got the nod to start on the mound against the Purcellville Cannons. Lowman gave up six unearned runs on three hits, while walking three in 0.2 innings.
It was a great start for Lowman on the mound as he got the first two batters out 11 pitches.
With two outs, Lowman put on back-to-back runners. Errors then became a factor for the Braves as the team committed two defensive errors that led to six runs scored by the Cannons.
Lowman’s final batter he faced; he walked on four pitches which signaled the end to the 18-year-olds VBL debut.
The Braves who fell behind 6-0 early went on to come from behind to beat the Cannons 9-8.
