Mr. William Douglas Curtis, age 81, of Clifton Forge, died Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at his residence. He was the husband of the late Mary Annette Whittington Curtis.
Mr. Curtis was born July 27, 1939 in California, the son of the late Franklin Lemarr Curtis and Lola Alameda Brock.
During his working career, he was employed as a “tunnel stiff” where he worked underground drilling for railroads, water systems, tunnels, etc.
William was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing with trains.
Mr. Curtis is survived by his daughter, Debra Lynn Sizemore and husband, Kenneth of Clifton Forge; a son, Richard Anthony Curtis of California; three grandchildren, Jason Raether, Nicholas Raether and Joshua Raether; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
