COVINGTON — Lauren Bragg, a senior at Covington High School, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Bluefield University this fall, where she plans to major in pre-law and journalism. Bragg, the daughter of Jim and Lisa Salyards Bragg, has attended Covington High for the past five years. In addition to basketball, she has participated in volleyball, soccer, softball and was a member of the marching band. The talented student-athlete has also been named valedictorian of the Covington High School Class of 2023.
“Lauren pretty much emobodied what you want from a student athlete as a coach,” CHS coach Ryan Kessinger said.
“She’s a leader on and off the court, valedictorian of the class so that speaks for itself. She raised the ability for everybody else and i truly believe that. This is a special day,” he added.
