LOW MOOR, VA – In a Three Rivers District matchup Monday, both the visiting Carroll County Cavaliers, and Alleghany Mountaineers boys soccer teams were looking to get back on the right track.

On this occasion, the night belonged to the Cavaliers who defeated the Mounties 7-2 and swept the regular season series with them.

After having dropped three of their previous four matches, the Cavaliers needed a big start in their matchup with the Mounties. The team jumped out to a 5-0 advantage after the first 40 minutes.

Despite falling behind five scores, the Mounties started gaining steam as Xzavier Hayseltt kicked in the team’s first goal around 11 minutes into the second half.

Trailing by four scores with 10 minutes to go, Kellen Lowman brought the Mounties within three with a goal of his own.

Just as the Mounties were building momentum, the Cavaliers answered back by getting the two goals back in the final nine minutes of the game.

The win for the Cavaliers was the team’s second in a row. The loss pushed the Mounties streak to nine straight.
