NEW CASTLE, VA – The Bath County Chargers enjoy playing the Craig County Rockets on the soccer field during the 2023 boys’ season as the Chargers prevailed victorious 13-0 last Tuesday in New Castle.
For the second time this season, the Chargers scored 10+ goals, both against the Rockets. Just two weeks prior, the Chargers blanked the Rockets 12-0 at home. This time around it was more of the same as both Andrew Turner and Kamoy Stone put together hat-trick performances with three goals each.
The Chargers jumped out to an eight-goal advantage through the first 40 minutes and added another five goals in the second half. Braiden Mabe, and Carter Hooker each added two goals in the win. On goal, Frankie DeBoe had his fifth shutout performance on the nets. In the win over the Rockets, DeBoe had two saves in two opportunities. Defensively, Isaac Gwin had an eight-steal evening.
Skylar Rodrigues led the Rockets with an eight-steal performance, while Alex Drake had the team’s only two goal opportunities.
