The Shadow
Hi! My name is Jennifer Bailey and I currently reside in Clifton Forge, Virginia. I am happily married to my husband and soulmate, Joseph Bailey, who some of you know from delivering your newspapers. Joe and I have three beautiful children together: Selena, Corey and Jordan, who are 20, 19 and 16, respectively.
I originally moved to Clifton Forge when I was 12, graduating from Sharon Elementary, Clifton Middle, and finally, Alleghany High School. I have known since I was 10 that I wanted to be a writer but put my dream on hold to raise my children. It was a sacrifice I will never regret making, as it enabled me to raise them hands-on and be the mother they deserved.
I began my college journey at Liberty University in February of 2018 while simultaneously homeschooling my three children. I earned my bachelor’s degree in 2020, graduating summa cum laude, before moving on to the master’s program. Then, in December 2022, I earned my MFA in creative writing, graduating with high distinction.
Aside from being a wife and mother, I am also a devout Christian. My family and I attend Solid Rock Ministries in Covington where I serve as a worship leader.
