ALLEGHANY COUNTY, VA (VR) – The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism is inviting Chamber members, local businesses, community partners and residents to stop by and get to know their Chamber during its first-ever Chamber Open House on Thursday, September 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Open House will be held at the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism and Visitor Center, located at 110 Mall Road in Covington. The event is designed as a casual, drop-in opportunity for the community to meet the Chamber team, learn more about the organization’s work and explore the many resources available to businesses, organizations and visitors throughout the Alleghany Highlands.
“We want our Chamber to be an organization that our business community feels connected to and comfortable engaging with,” said Josh Taylor, Executive Director of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism. “We do a tremendous amount of work throughout the year, but just as important as the programs and events we offer are the relationships we build with the people we serve.
This Open House is simply an opportunity to open our doors, introduce our team, answer questions and give people a better look at what their Chamber is doing for the Alleghany Highlands.”
Current Chamber members are encouraged to attend to learn more about ways to take advantage of their membership, become more involved and connect one-on-one with Chamber staff. Businesses and organizations that are not currently members are also invited to stop by, meet the team and learn more about Chamber membership and available resources.
The Open House is also open to members of the general public who would like to learn more about the Chamber’s role in supporting the local business community, economic vitality, community initiatives and tourism development and marketing.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore the Chamber-operated Alleghany Highlands Visitor Center and learn more about how the organization welcomes visitors and promotes the region’s businesses, attractions, lodging, outdoor recreation and other tourism assets.
There will be no formal program and no need to arrive at a specific time. Guests are encouraged to stop by anytime between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. as their schedules allow. Light snacks and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
“Our organization is strongest when we have strong relationships with the businesses, organizations and people we serve,” Taylor added. “Whether someone has been a Chamber member for years, recently joined, is thinking about becoming a member or simply wants to learn more about what we do, we hope they’ll stop in and see us.”
The Alleghany Highlands Chamber Open House will take place Thursday, September 10, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at 110 Mall Road in Covington.
