HOT SPRINGS, VA – Senior Kamoy Stone who has been a scoring machine lately. put together a five-goal performance in the Bath County Chargers (6-3-1-/5-1-1) 8-0 shutout victory over the Covington Cougars (3-9/2-4) on Friday evening at Carl F. WIlliams Field.
Not only was it a big Pioneer District win for the Chargers, but the victory could also forever be bragging rights in what may have been the final matchup ever between the two schools depending on the playoff seeding.
Stone led four Chargers who pushed the ball through the nets on Friday. Caiden Offer, Dustin Woods, and Dillan Royer each scored a goal. Across the last three games Stone has scored 15 goals.
The Cougars struggled to get the offense going and had chances at a few goal opportunities, however Frankie DeBoe was there to deny the Cougars as he had a five-goal save for the Chargers.
The Chargers have two games left in the regular season with both coming on the road. The team will head to New Castle on Tuesday and their regular season will wrap up on Wednesday against Alleghany for their final matchup ever with the Mountaineers.
Meanwhile, the Cougars also have two regular season games left to go. Both of their matchups will be held home at the Jackson River Sports Complex. The team hosts the Narrows Green Waves on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. The Cougars are 0-5 at home this season.
