Arnetta Tingler Hicks, 83, of 6315 Potts Creek Road, died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021, in the Brian Center Nursing and Rehab Center at Low Moor.
Mrs. Hicks was born Jan. 31, 1937, in Alleghany County, a  daughter of the late Frank and Mabel Redman Tingler.  
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Hicks; two sisters, Darlene Givens and Velma Tingler; one brother, Benson Tingler; a daughter, Linda Jones; a granddaughter, Melissa Browning; and two great-granddaughters.
She had retired from Halmode, Inc. and had worked at Whitey’s One Stop. 
Surviving are three daughters, Barbara Sullivan of South Carolina,  Sherry Wolfe and her husband Darel and Belva Brookman and her husband Sherman, all of Covington;  five Sons, James Hicks and his wife Joann of Kentucky,  Darrell Hicks,  Rocky Hicks and his wife Frances, Carey ”Tinker” Hicks and his wife Marla and Paul “Beaver” Hicks and Charlotte Norman, all of Covington;  three brothers and sisters-in-law,  Howard and Judy Tingler,  Rodney and Pat Tingler and Chucky and Denise Tingler, all of Covington;  three sisters, Brenda Humphries, Carol McCulley and Chrystal McCulley, all of Covington;  her aunt, Adena Tingler of Covington; 28  grandchildren,  28 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.  
A funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, at 2 p.m., graveside in Lone Star Cemetery with the Rev. Steve Noel officiating.
The family will receive their friends Thursday from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home.
Active Pallbearers will be Dusty Hicks, Paul Hicks Jr., Alan Adkins, Stephen Bogar, Logan Hicks, Kevin Tingler, Shawn Tingler, Derrick Wolfe and Jacob Gilmore.
The family will be at the residence of Alan and Jeannie Adkins at 6311 Potts Creek Road.
The family wishes to thank Kim and Hanna, Arnetta’s nurses on the fourth floor.
Arritt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
