Roadrunners compete at Wildcat Twilight

LYNCHBURG, Va. (VR) – The 2023 Wildcat Twilight Invitational was held this past weekend at the Randolph College track field.

At the track meet, the Mountain Gateway Community College Roadrunners track team took part in three different events.

Elijah Harvey competed in two events, the men’s 100 meters and the men’s long jump. Unfortunately, Harvey did not score or place in either event.

The same went for Jacob Ivins who did not score or place in the men’s 400 meters.

The team’s next track and field competition they’ll be a part of will be on Wednesday, May 3, at the Liberty Twilight Invitational.

Below are the top three and Roadrunner results from the events that the team participated in.

Men’s 100 Meters

  1. Deontae Lawson, Ferrum – 11.20
  2. Elvi Nwaneri, Southern Virginia – 11.45
  3. Quinn Jackson, UVA Club Running – 11.58

(DNS) – Elijah Harvey, Mountain Gateway CC

Men’s 400 Meters

  1. Michael Rose, Liberty – 50.20
  2. Sebastian Malave, Virginia Tech Running Club – 50.84
  3. Hunter Bleam, Liberty – 51.99

(DNS) – Jacob Ivins, Mountain Gateway CC

Men’s Long Jump

  1. Chris Caputo, Virginia Tech Running Club – 6.30m
  2. Philip Lopez, Virginia Tech Running Club – 6.08m
  3. Tristan Coates, Virginia Tech Running Club – 6.03m
