COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – Last week, the Alleghany Mountaineers tennis team shutout Buffalo Gap 9-0, then three days later lost a tough overall battle to Carroll County by a count of 5-4. Alleghany is now 9-2 overall and 1-2 in the Three Rivers District.

“It was good to get a win against Gap. Our guys were shorthanded at Carroll,” coach Seth Davis said. “They fought back after being down 1-4, and almost pulled it off. We need to clean stuff up in practice and get better.”
