Mr. John William Graham Sr., age 88, of Covington, died Saturday, December 19, 2020, at LewisGale Hospital Alleghany.  He was the husband of the late Frances Mae Montgomery Graham
Mr. Graham was born April 24, 1932 in Alleghany County, a son of the late John McKinley Graham and Thelma Bennett Graham.
John was a hardworking man that always provided for his family. He knew how to do everything from plumbing, electrical, building houses and garages.  A great carpenter and mechanic, he went above and beyond anytime that family, friends or neighbors needed help with home emergencies.  During his working career, John worked at Back Creek as a heavy equipment operator, worked for Hercules as a class A mechanic before retiring from Webbs Heating and Plumbing.  In John’s spare time, he enjoyed hunting and working on home improvements for people in his community.  He was a member of Temple Baptist Church.
Mr. Graham is survived by his son, John William Graham, Jr. and wife, Peggy of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Sunja Craft and husband, Joseph of Covington, Melisha Mundy and husband, Mike of Clifton Forge, Samantha Graham and Al Franson of Clifton Forge; great grandchildren, Alexis Leigh Richmond, Godson, Isaac Oliver, Hailey Gibson, Autumn, Michael, Makenzi, Brianna, and Olivia Mundy, Jessie and Jarica Franson; brother, Joe Graham Sr., and wife, Ramona; sisters, RosaLee Martin, Joyce Roberts and husband, Stuart; sister in law, Patty Graham, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah Lee Graham Morgan; an infant brother, Junior McKinley Graham and brothers, Charles Graham Sr., David Graham, Paul Graham Sr.; two nieces; and two nephews.
A service will be held at noon, Wednesday,  December 23, 2020 at Alleghany Memorial Park with Rev. Bill Hartsfield officiating. Those wishing to attend the service should assemble at the park by 11:45 A.M.  The family requests that everyone wear masks and practice social distancing guidelines.
