AHS Track and Field Meet at Staunton River High School

MONETA, VA – Kiera Lowman’s dominant freshman campaign continued at Staunton River High Schools home meet last Wednesday as she finished first overall in girls 1600-meter run with a time of 5:30.87

 Gracie Barron finished second in the girls 3200-meter run with a time of 13:56.90.

 The Mountaineers girls team overall finished in fifth place out of six teams with 36 points, while the boys team finished third place with 99.50. 

 On the boys’ side, Andrew Craft had five top-five event performances, including a first-place finish in the boys’ triple jump with a jump of 38-11.50. Craft’s teammate Jackson Westfall was just behind him at 37-05.00.

 The boys team also finished first in the boys 4×800 meter relay as they held off hosts Staunton River with a time of 9:41.90.

 Patrick Henry won the girls event with 132 points, while Staunton River won the boys with 121 points. 

 The Mountaineers will run next at the Concord University High School Invitational next Saturday, April 15th.
