Alleghany’s Davien Moore has been selected to play in the Bob Wade Autoworld 5th Shenandoah Valley All Star Game on Sunday, April 2.
The game will be played at Harrisonburg High School and it is the first time they have hosted the event in the last three years due to the pandemic.
There will be several college coaches at the event that are not attending the Final 4 NCAA tournament in Houston.
Unfortunately, there were not enough senior girls able to commit to playing so there will be two boys games.
Moore is excited for his opportunity and to just be selected.
“It feels amazing to be selected in such a special event. It’ll be a fun way to showcase my skills in front of colleges. I’m honored to share the court with some of the best players in our area and to be acknowledged as one of those players. It’s a great opportunity to showcase my talent, and a great way to end out my senior year,” Moore said with a smile.
Playing in an all-star game is fun but can also be about business if it needs to be, and Moore is planning to bring both of those to the table.
“My goal in the game is to show my all-around game. It’s an all-star game so I’ll just be having fun, but I also would like to bring a win to my team. Doing whatever I need to do to benefit my team in the best way. I hope to play well and make smart consistent plays. If I play how I know I can, it will get some talk around my name. My goal is to get the win and get my name out there,” Moore said.
Moore will play in the “Subaru Game” at 1:00 PM. His team’s full roster is below:
