Covington City School Board To Meet Monday

Covington City School Board will hold its regular meeting Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Under new business, the board will:

– Consider an overnight field trip to for the Covington High School music department to Washington, D.C., April 28-30;

– Consider an overnight field trip for the CHS Youth and Government Club to Richmond, April 14-16;

– Consider an overnight field trip for the CHS wrestling team to Salem, Feb. 17-19;

– Consider approval of submission of a grant to the Alleghany Foundation for The Greater Alleghany School Health Services.

The board will also hear a report from the superintendent on the following:

– VSBA School Board Appreciation Month, (February);

– VSBA School Board Clerk Appreciation Week, Feb. 13-19;

– Virginia School Principals Appreciation Week, Jan. 23-29;

– National School Counselor Appreciation Week, Feb. 7-11;

– Career and Technical Education Month, February;

– Bullying prevention activities conducted in schools.

A closed session will follow for the purpose of pupil personnel and personnel issues.
