Danny Lee Lawhorne, age 68, of 833 Acacia Avenue, Clifton Forge, Virginia died Wednesday, December 9, 2020 at his residence.
He was born November 22, 1952 in Lexington, Virginia to the late Grover Cleveland Lawhorne, Jr. and Iva Arlene Rowsey Lawhorne.
He was retired as a hoist driver from R. R. Donnelly of Roanoke and also worked for Mundette Corporation of Buena Vista. He enjoyed college football, and was an avid fan of the Clemson Tigers. He loved his family and especially kids.
He is survived by his wife, Hallie Hunt Lawhorne of Clifton Forge; a step daughter, Angela Brown and husband Andy of Covington; a step son, Michael Evans and wife Tammy of White Sulphur Springs, WV; a sister, Teresa Devens and husband Chris of Lorton, VA; a brother, Larry Lawhorne and wife Joyce of Walhalla, SC; his favorite granddaughter, Madison Brown; three grandsons, Evan Brown, Hayden Evans, and Keegan Evans; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 12:00 Noon in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, Lexington with Reverend Paul Brokaw officiating.
Interment will immediately follow. There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call anytime at Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
