The Covington Woman’s Club of General Federation Women’s Club sponsored the Annual Student Art and Writing Contest participants at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library, Thursday evening, with a reception.
The visual Arts judged included acrylic paintings, black and white drawings, pastels, oil paintings, digital photography, natural wonders, reflections, mixed media, watercolor, tempera, crayons, markers, pencils, collages, graphics, and writing.
The Writing Judges were Gina Middleton and Elisabeth Thompson; the Art Judges were Dan Rudd and Judith Savonda. The Art Teachers were Heather Brooks (CHS); Skylar Nicely (AHS); Burke Harris (JWIS); and Kaarn Thomas (CMS).
The Covington Women’s Club Art Chairs were Jeanie Morrissette and Cynthia Baroody, and the Covington Woman’s Club Writing Chair was Debbie Rose.
The CWC gratefully acknowledged the assistance of all who worked to make the show possible this year. And, gave a special thank you to Lisa Hicks and the staff of the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library for allowing the show to take place and making room for the exhibition of the beautiful works of art and writing.
