Covington, Va. (VR) – Children’s author Muriel Humphries Sammons will hold a signing for her new book, The Little Boy and the Tiny Yellow Kitten, at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library. The event will take place on Saturday, September 17th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

Sammons, who taught for many years at Boiling Spring Elementary School, will be talking with patrons and signing paperback copies of her book.

Sammons’ debut work is a picture book that tells the story of a boy and a tiny kitten who became best buddies. It is also a story about being different and not fitting the “norm.” This is the story of how the boy and tiny kitten met, became instant buddies and helped each other work through their differences. They made much progress because of their love and understanding of each other, remembering that it only takes one kind soul to make a difference!

Copies of The Little Boy and the Tiny Yellow Kitten will be available for purchase the day of the event. For more information about this author visit or other AHRL programs, call the library at 962-3321. The Alleghany Highlands Regional Library is located at 406 W. Riverside Street in Covington.
