The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism held a ribbon-cutting celebration for Image Express’ Grand Re-Opening at 362 W. Main St. in Covington on Thurs., Aug. 25.

Teresa Hammond, executive director of the Chamber, delivered her welcoming statement and called on Jonathan Arritt, past president of the Chamber, to render his remarks.

Arritt congratulated Matt Garten and Kristen Garten, his wife, for reopening Image Express.

The City of Covington Mayor Tom Sibold followed by expressing his thanks for reopening the business that he deemed as a vital part of bringing foot traffic to the downtown area.

Dale Burdette, councilman for the Town of Clifton Forge, thanked the Gartens for their contribution to the Alleghany Highlands, and Terri McClung, representative of the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation, echoed Burdette’s congratulatory remarks by noting the contribution the Gartens are making by reopening Image Express.

Matt confirmed his renewed dedication to providing quick customer service, and after the ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on Main Street in front of the store, he remarked, “Our Grand Re-Opening comes with a commitment for customer service.”

Matt’s father, Tommy Garten, and the late Wayne Lawson joined forces during the mid-1990s to form Sign Express in Covington, a business that focused mainly on producing signs for Tommy’s Greenways & Auction Company, Inc.

Matt emphasized that Image Express will now offer cutting-edge technology to produce vehicle wraps, embroidering, trophies, plaques, corporate imaging and uniquely designed apparel.

He also pledged good old-fashioned customer service and the timely filling of orders, including large orders by athletic teams.

Matt’s statement on the flyer that was distributed at the ribbon-cutting celebration concluded, “Image Express is proud to offer not only cutting-edge technological resources to you and your business or organization but also a return to good old-fashioned customer service – a friendly face to greet you, hard-working staff, that will cater to your every need and the expectation that we will not promise something we can’t deliver. We will work hard to earn your business and look forward to serving our region for many years to come.”

Image Express has established its store hours as follows: Mon. through Fri., 9:00 a.m. till 6:00 p.m.
