ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. (VR) – Three local girls brought home a collection of top finishes from the 2026 Rockbridge County Fair, with Gabby Woodson and cousins Raegan and Rylee Forbes each earning honors in poultry competition and showmanship.
Woodson, an Alleghany High School junior, took Reserve Champion honors in the Bantam Division and was named Overall Champion of the American Division.
She also collected first-place finishes in the English Division pullet, Mediterranean Division pullet, Clean Leg Bantam cockerel, Feather Leg Bantam cockerel and American Division pullet classes. Woodson added a second-place finish in the Asiatic Division cockerel class.
Woodson capped her showing by winning the Senior Showmanship Championship.
Raegan Forbes, a seventh grader at Covington Middle School, earned second place in the Feather Leg Bantam hen class. She also was named Novice Division Champion in showmanship.
Rylee Forbes, a fifth grader at Mountain View, placed second in the All Other Standard Breed hen class with her ISA Brown. She was also named Novice Division Reserve Champion in showmanship.
This was the first year that Raegan and Rylee Forbes have competed, Woodson has been competing for ten years.
