The Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism held a ribbon-cutting celebration for Sean and Lisa Dunster, the new owners of Ridgely, Bed, Breakfast and Gardens in Clifton Forge.
The Dusters moved to Clifton Forge from Loveland, Ohio, located in the Cincinnati area, after purchasing Ridgely that was built in 1902 on the side of Fore Mountain overlooking the Jackson River.
Built by Ambrose and Rives Ford, Ridgely features Ridgely Gardens, two acres of a variety of flowers, plants, bushes and trees.
Having been a private residence for the past 120 years, Ridgely Bed, Breakfast and Gardens will now cater to visitors to the area who wish to experience the ambiance of the garden outside and the luxurious interior of the mansion.
Dr. John Rainone, president of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, welcomed the couple and introduced the officials in attendance, Terri McClung, representative of the Alleghany Highlands Economic Development Corporation; Clifton Forge Town Mayor Jeff Irvine and Covington City Mayor Tom Sibold.
Each welcomed the Dunsters and pledged their support for helping them become successful at their new business venture.
The Dunsters each expressed their thanks to all concerned, and they invited those in attendance to tour the gardens and the bed and breakfast where food and refreshments were being served.
The address of Ridgely Bed, Breakfast and Gardens is 118 First St.
Teresa Hammond, executive director of the Chamber, was unable to attend the celebration, but Rainone extended thanks to the Dunsters from her, noting that she had asked him to thank them for their investment in the Alleghany Highlands.
