This past Saturday (April 15), 54 teams that featured over 566+ players, held the Alleghany Highlands Youth Sports (AHYS) eighth Opening Day Ceremony at the Jackson River Sports Complex.

The AHYS and everyone involved from the coaches, players, parents, spectators, etc., could not have asked for a better day for their opening day ceremony as the weather was sunny and in the 70’s.

Below are scenes from Saturday’s festivities.

If you are a parent or guardian and have a child in the AHYS and would like to share and send us pictures, please email us at website@thevirginianreview.com

In the photo, Emma Pommert (batting), plays for Cucci’s in the Tee Ball league.
