As we enter the final week of the regular season, tomorrow night will be the final games before regionals begin next week.

With many teams fighting for a spot at the playoffs, this week will certainly be one for the books.

There’s only two local games on tap for tomorrow night, as Covington hosts Craig County, while Bath County hosts Narrows.

Alleghany finished its regular season on Monday with a loss to Floyd County. The Mountaineers will miss the postseason as they finished with an overall record of 2-8.

Narrows at Bath County

The Chargers are not out.

The winless Chargers upset Craig County on Tuesday night 19-0 and currently sit in ninth place in the VHSL Region 1C rankings behind Grayson County who is in the eighth spot.

With a win over Narrows who holds onto the sixth spot and a Grayson County loss, it may be enough for the Chargers to sneak into the postseason after starting out 0-7.

Craig County at Covington

Despite the Cougars loss on Tuesday in non conference play to the James Monroe Mavericks, the team remains in the seventh spot of the Region 1C VHSL rankings.

Regardless of the outcome tomorrow night, the Cougars should have a playoff spot secured, but a win could move them up in the rankings.

A win for Craig County and a Grayson and Bath loss, could help them get in.
