Last night the Bath County Chargers were routed 53-12 by the East Hardy (W.Va) Cougars.
The loss dropped the Chargers to 0-4 on the season.
The game was essentially over by the end of the first half as the Cougars led 47-0.
But one major bright side for the Chargers came on the second half kickoff, as the team scored on a kick return for the score.
It was the teams first points of the year.
The Chargers had gone the first 14 quarters of the season without a point scored.
The team grabbed a second touchdown in the second half of the game as well.
For the second half, the Chargers outscored the Cougars 12-6.
If anything, its push towards the right direction for the team who will have their first road game next Friday since the season opener against the Covington Cougars back on August 27th.
The Chargers will travel to Eastern Montgomery to take on the 3-2 Mustangs.
The Mustangs are coming off of a 26-0 victory against Craig County last night.
We will have a complete recap of the game in Tuesday’s edition.
