LOW MOOR — The Alleghany County Board of Supervisors will meet today at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The 11 a.m. meeting will be a closed session to interview candidates for the county administrator’s position.
At 7 p.m., the board will convene for its October business meeting.
There will be public hearings on:
— A proposed amendment to the Community Development Block Grant plan, approved by the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development for an emergency small business grant program in 2020.
— Amendments to the county operating budget to reflect carryforwards and encumbrances. The budget amendment totals $9.5 million.
Susan Hammond of the Virginia Department of Transportation will present a monthly report.
Under unfinished business, the board will consider approving budget aments to reflect carryforwards and encumbrances.
New business will include:
— Theresa Tanner of the U.S. Forest Service.
— Delores Quarles concerning Wrightsville.
— Amendments to the county pay classification plan.
— A supplemental appropriation to the Comprehensive Services Act.
— An appointment to the Board of Zoning Appeals.
