CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – A Virginia firm will help the West Virginia Parkways Authority choose a developer for property at Tamarack.
The Register-Herald reports that the authority voted Thursday to pay Land Planning and Design Associates of Charlottesville, Va., up to $45,000.
A land-use study conducted by the firm ranks a hotel as the top development priority for 82 acres surrounding the Beckley artisan center.
Parkways general manager Greg Barr told the authority that the Boy Scouts of America’s adventure camp under construction in Fayette County is generating interest among developers. He says six proposals have been received so far, some formal and some informal.
Barr says time is running short to develop the property.
The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve will host the 2013 Boy Scout National Jamboree.
