Two large cranes are in place as construction continues on MeadWestvaco’s new biomass boiler in Covington.
The boiler is projected to cost $285 million and is expected to be in use by late 2013.
The height of the cranes’ booms can be compared to the tall smokestack at left.
The new boiler will replace two older fossil fuel units at the mill.
