Mick Strand’s second block marketing class at Jackson River Technical Center recently selected DECA officers for the 2012-13 school year.

From left: Jaimee Kimberlin, parliamentarian; Brooke Campbell, historian; Kaitlin Nida, treasurer; Hanna Kirby, secretary; Eric Barbour, president; Emma Rothe, reporter; Neil Seldomridge, vice president.

The class has a busy year planned.

They plan to compete in Roanoke January 10 in district competition of marketing events, with those finishing first or second in any of the events being eligible for state competition in Virginia Beach.

Winners on the state level will be eligible for national competition in California.

Along with the competitions, the class members are also planning on participating in several community service activities around the community.
