Ella Simmons Shull, age 74, of 103 Wilson Creek Lane, Clifton Forge, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, in Low Moor.
She was born September 3, 1938 in Iron Gate, to the late William Edward Simmons, Sr. and Carrie Emma Simmons Simmons.
Ella graduated from Central High School in Low Moor and the Chesapeake and Ohio School of Nursing in Clifton Forge.
She was a retired registered nurse with over 50 years of experience which included the C&O Hospital, where she also served as a nursing instructor, and Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Gene Stratton Simmons, Andrew Doyle “Tink” Simmons, William Edward “Billy” Simmons, and John Thomas “Jack” Simmons.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Marion Lawrence “Bob” Shull of Clifton Forge; a brother, Charles. “Boopie” Simmons, Sr. and wife Nancy of Iron Gate; a number of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Earl and Marion Anderson of Clifton Forge.
In keeping with her wishes, her body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge is in charge of arrangements.
