Today’s Headline: Former Depositors Of Clifton Forge National Bank To Meet Wednesday.
A meeting of the former depositors of the Clifton Forge National Bank will take place in the Clifton Forge YMCA auditorium at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, according to letters sent out yesterday by the trustees.
The letters state further the trustees anticipate having on hand sufficient money to make a third 10 percent dividend payment to the former depositors early next month.

Today’s Headline: Coach Albert Celebrates Birth.
Covington High School’s veteran head football coach F.J. “Boodie” Albert must consider 1962 a banner year.
Last Monday, his team defeated Clifton Forge to end the year with a 9-1 record and the Blue Ridge District Championship and yesterday he became the father of Francis Joseph Albert III.
The new addition to Coach Albert’s family could be a future Cougar about 1978.

Today’s Headline: CSB Receives Resolution Of Support.
The Alleghany Highlands Community Services Board has received a resolution of support from one of the local governing bodies for a funding initiative currently underway in the Commonwealth.
AHCSB Executive Director Joe Sergent told the board that last week began the board’s rounds before the local government bodies requesting support.
The Alleghany County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution of support at its meeting Tuesday evening.

Today’s Headline: Cost Designs Of New AHS Presented.
The cost of building a new Alleghany County high school could range from $41.5 to $62 million, according to the latest architectural estimates.
The low end of the cost range – $41.5 to $54.2 million – is for construction of a standard 162,000 square foot high school for 900 students with expansion capabilities to house 1,200 students.
