The display case at Charles P. Jones Memorial Library currently features a collection of paintings by Laddie Sellers Leitch.

Laddie was a life-long resident of Covington and the wife of Preston Leitch Jr.

A self-taught artist, Laddie always had her sketch pad and pen with her and sketched or painted many pictures of local attractions.

She also enjoyed taking art classes with her friends Bessie Chumbly and Carla Bell.

Laddie’s son, Pete Leitch of Covington, has a house full of his mother’s artwork.

Laddie also has a daughter, Bettie Leitch Greenway who resides in Morris, Ill.

Laddie died in 1990 at the age of 79.
