Covington’s eighth grade volleyball team lost their season opener last week to Lylburn Downing 25-23, 25-17.
Kendall Staunton led the Cougars in serving points with 11.
Katie Dameron had eight, Abby Perkins scored four, Lauren Gillespie, Allison Shepard, Allison Bush, Maddie Martin and Rayne Barnett all had three each, while Jordan Ward and Olivia Martin both scored one.
