Despite a brief storm before the scheduled start, a large crowd turned out Saturday evening for One Fight Inc.'s Jammin' On The Jackson at Alleghany Outdoors. Concertgoers enjoyed food from Island Wheels Food Truck and Luca's Pizza while a DJ opened the event. Music Fills the Riverfront at Jammin’ On The Jackson

COVINGTON, Va. (VR) - National recording artist Glen Shelton made his annual stop in Covington on Saturday night as the Covington Parks and Recreation Summer Music Series continued. The free concert drew a strong crowd to enjoy an evening of live country music. Shelton performed a mix of his original songs along with popular country hits, entertaining those in attendance throughout the evening. The Summer Music Series continues through the end of August, with concerts remaining free to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the performances. ALLEGHANY COUNTY

ELEMENTARY
MIDDLE SCHOOLS
Monday: Breakfast — Juice, fruit, cereal, toast or biscuit with sausage.

Lunch — Entree choices, choose 1: Cheese pizza or beef and bean burrito.

Vegetable choices: Sweet potato coins, lima beans, celery sticks with low fat dip, fruit choice.

Tuesday: Breakfast — Juice, fruit, cereal, toast or biscuit with bacon and egg.

Lunch — Entree choices, choose 1: Popcorn chicken with roll or jumbo corn dog.
Vegetable choices: Whole white potatoes, pinto beans, seasoned broccoli florets, fruit choice.

Wednesday: Breakfast — Juice, fruit, cereal, toast or French toast sticks.

Lunch — Entree choices, choose 1: Salisbury steak with gravy and roll or chicken patty on bun. Vegetable choices: Baked potato, seasoned corn, fruit choice.

Thursday: Breakfast — Juice, fruit, cereal, toast or biscuit with breakfast chicken.

Lunch — Entree choices, choose 1: Fish treasures with bread sticks or pork barbecue on bun. Vegetable choices: French fries, coleslaw, seasoned cooked carrots, fruit choice.

Friday: Breakfast — Juice, fruit, cereal, toast or bacon and scrambled eggs.

Lunch — Entree choices, choose 1: Chicken nuggets and roll or cheese pizza.
Vegetable choices: Creamed potatoes with gravy, seasoned green peas, sliced cukes with low fat dip, fruit choice.

Choice of 1 percent white and non-fat chocolate milk is offered with breakfast and lunch. Pizza is offered daily as an entree item at the Middle School and chef salads are offered daily at the middle and all elementary schools as an entree item.

SCHOOL

Lunch  — Entree choices, choose 1: Popcorn chicken  and roll, chicken patty on bun, pepperoni pizza, cheeseburger on bun. Vegetable choices: Whole white potatoes, seasoned broccoli florets, pinto beans, fruit choice.

Lunch — Entree choices, choose 1: Fish treasures with bread sticks, pepperoni pizza, chicken patty on bun, cheeseburger on bun. Vegetable choices: French fries, seasoned cooked carrots, coleslaw, fruit choice.

Friday: Breakfast — Juice, fruit, cereal, toast or bacon and scrambled eggs.

Lunch — Entree choices, choose 1: Chicken nuggets with roll, pepperoni pizza, cheeseburger on bun, barbecue on bun. Vegetable choices: Creamed potatoes with gravy, seasoned green peas, baby carrots with low fat dip, fruit choice.

Lettuce and tomato are offered when sandwiches are menued.

BATH COUNTY
SCHOOLS

Monday: Breakfast — Pancakes with syrup or cereal, toast.

Lunch — Chicken patty on bun, seasoned cooked carrots, coleslaw, choice of fruit.

Tuesday: Breakfast — Breakfast pizza, cereal or toast.

Lunch — Hamburger steak with gravy, scalloped potatoes, green beans, sliced bread, choice of fruit.

Wednesday: Breakfast — Scrambled egg, toast or ultimate breakfast round.

Lunch — Hamburger on bun with L,T,M, sweet potato fries, navy beans, choice of fruti.

Thursday: Breakfast — Sausage biscuit with gravy, cereal, toast.

Lunch — Pizza, corn, tossed salad, choice of fruit.

Friday: Breakfast — French toast sticks or ultimate breakfast rounds.

Lunch — Potato soup, grilled cheese, R/O veggies with lite Ranch dressing, choice of fruit.

All meals are served with a choice of low-fat or fat-free milk. Tossed salad is offered daily as a vegetable choice in all schools.

COVINGTON
 SCHOOLS

Monday: Breakfast  — Chilled juice, cereal, toast, sausage biscuit, milk.

Lunch — Chicken patty on bun, sweet potato fries, pinto beans, pineapple tidbits, milk.

Tuesday: Breakfast — Chilled juice, cereal, toast, breakfast pizza, milk.

Lunch — Ravioli in meat sauce, broccoli, baby carrots with Ranch dressing, applesauce, bread sticks, milk.

Wednesday: Breakfast — Chilled juice, cereal, toast, scrambled eggs.

Lunch — Pepperoni pizza, Romaine salad with dressing, corn, mixed fruit, milk.

Thursday: Breakfast — Chilled juice, cereal, toast,  breakfast burrito, milk.

Lunch — Chuckwagon steak, creamed potatoes with gravy, chopped kale, mandarin oranges, rolls, milk.

Friday: Breakfast — Chilled juice, cereal, toast, French toast sticks.

Lunch — Taco with lettuce, cheese and tomato, sweet potato fries, navy beans, pineapple tidbits, milk.

Additional menu items are offered at Covington High School and Jeter-Watson Intermediate: Romaine salad with dressing, sandwiches, yogurt. Choice of milk, 1 percent white and fat free flavored.
