LYNCHBURG, Va, – In preparation for next week’s CUSA Football Kickoff event, Conference USA has released its 2026 Preseason Watch List.

Liberty had five players named to the 2026 CUSA Preseason Watch List, as did each of the 10 schools in the league. The list was selected by the head coach of each school.

Liberty’s five players named to the list include wide receiver Jamari Person, linebacker Deuce Spurlock, offensive lineman D.J. Geth, defensive lineman Mike Jarvis and wide receiver/return specialist Darius Copeland.

Three of the five selections have already received preseason accolades this year. Geth was named to the Phil Steele 2026 Preseason All-CUSA team (second team) and the Athlon Sports 2026 Preseason All-CUSA team (first team).

Additionally, Jarvis (first team) and Person (third team) joined Geth on the Athlon Sports 2026 Preseason All-CUSA team.

Conference USA will hold its annual CUSA Football Kickoff event next week (July 20-21) in Arlington, Texas. The preseason event will feature a live ESPN+ Kickoff Show from Texas Live! Arena on Monday, July 20 with Liberty’s segment scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT/12 p.m. ET.

CUSA All-Conference linebacker Derrell Farrar and tight end Caleb Ryan, along with Flames fourth-year head coach Jamey Chadwell will represent the Flames at this event.
