The Covington-Hot Springs Rotary Club has made its annual donation to the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College Educational Foundation, toward its pledge to endow the Covington-Hot Spring Rotary Scholarship.
Founded in the 1920s, the local club is one of the oldest Rotary clubs in the district and places a great emphasis on community and youth.
The club established the scholarship fund through the DSLCC Educational Foundation as a way to continue the club’s support and promotion of youth in the Alleghany Highlands.
A scholarship is awarded each year to a deserving student from Alleghany, Covington or Bath County High School who has made DSLCC their college of choice.
Here Kathy Bryant, left, Educational Foundation board member, accepts the contribution from Annette Anderson, Rotary Club member.
