GALAX — Ruth Elizabeth Fannin Bedsaul age 88 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in the Lewis Gale Medical Clinic in Salem, Virginia.
 
Mrs. Bedsaul was born in Kentucky on August 16, 1926 to John Emery ad Emma Preece Fannin.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband McGinnis Carl “Mac” Bedsaul; son John Robert Dotson; sister Ruby Fannin Charles and brother Ralph Fannin.
 
She is survived by her daughter Doris Ann Maynard of Pikeville, Kentucky; son Mackie Bedsaul of Galax, Virginia; sisters Ernestine Sanders; Thelma Fannin all of Majestic, Kentucky; brothers Bob Fannin of   Freeburn, Kentucky; Jack Fannin of Bean Station, Tennessee; Clyde Fannin of Phelps, Kentucky; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
 
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Oakland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Smith, the Rev. Richard Gregory and the Rev. Randy Morris officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday night from seven until nine at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
 
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Oakland Backpack Buddies, 4987 Pipers Gap Road, Galax, Virginia 24333.
