COVINGTON, Va. (VR) – The Alleghany Lady Cougars battled Wilson Memorial Tuesday night in a big Shenandoah District matchup, but Wilson came away with wins at both the junior varsity and varsity levels.

The Alleghany JV opened the night with a 25-14 loss to Wilson before responding with a 25-20 victory in the second match. The Cougars pushed Wilson to the limit in the deciding match, but fell 15-13.

The varsity match was a tight battle throughout, with Wilson Memorial taking all three sets.

Alleghany dropped the opening set 25-23 before Wilson claimed the second set by the same score. The Cougars continued to battle in the third set, but Wilson closed out the match with a 25-21 victory.

Alleghany is 6-2 and 12-2 on the season, the lady Cougars will host Riverheads on Thursday night.
