In accordance with the authority vested in me as Governor, I hereby order that the POW/MIA flag be displayed on all state buildings and grounds throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia on National POW/MIA Recognition Day, Friday, September 18, 2026.

On this solemn day, we pause to acknowledge the brave servicemembers who have been taken prisoner or remain missing in action. We honor the more than 1,300 Virginians who never returned home. I join all Virginians across the Commonwealth in recognizing the sacrifices of these heroes in service to our nation. Virginia will always honor their legacy, and we remain committed to reuniting them with their families and loved ones.

I hereby order that the POW/MIA flag shall be flown on Friday, September 18, 2026. Ordered on this, the 17th day of September 2026.
