Alan Livesay

Mr. Alan Warren Livesay, age 63, of Covington, died Saturday, August 15, 2026, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. He was the husband of Daphne Payton Livesay.

Mr. Livesay was born September 28, 1962, in Radford, the son of the late Marvin Warren Livesay and Teresa Ann Clifford Livesay. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Alan was employed as a process engineer by Westrock, and was a member of Bethesda Church in White
Sulphur Springs, WV. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf, spending time kayaking and fishing on the river as well as watching Hokie football. A lifelong music lover, he also enjoyed spending time playing drums and listening to music. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Daphne, Mr. Livesay is survived by his children, Patrick Alan Livesay (Haley) of Suffolk, Rachael Livesay Knaak (Atom) of Clarksville, TN and Adam Warren Livesay of Nashville, TN; his grandchildren, Jackson Douglas Livesay, Sadie Jean Livesay, Hannah Grace Livesay, Paige Lorraine Livesay, Riley Oliver Knaak, Harper Warren Knaak, Myles Henry Knaak and Sutton Olivia Knaak; three sisters, Marva L. Sellers (Mitch) of Covington, Lisa L. Jessee of Warm Springs and Marsha L. Womack (McKinley) of Delaware; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Marvin and Teresa Livesay, Mr. Livesay was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Rick Jessee.

The family will receive friends on Friday afternoon from 12:00 P.M. until time of service at Bethesda Church. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday, August 21, 2026, at Bethesda Church, White Sulphur Springs, WV with Rev. Chad Dingess officiating.

Pallbearers will be Atom Knaak, Mitch Sellers, Cory Jessee, Ethan Sellers, Haden Sellers and Sam Arrington. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Riley Knaak, Jackson Livesay and Myles Knaak.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations take the form of contributions to Bethesda Church and marked Outreach.  The Outreach program hosts a mobile food bank and also provides food boxes to those in need. To give by mail: Bethesda Church, P.O. Box 815, White Sulphur
Springs, WV 24986 or to give online www.bethesdachurch.tv/give and select Outreach. The family also suggests that contributions may be sent to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306, an organization that provides several programs to assist military personnel, first responders and their families who make supreme sacrifices for this country.

Arrangements are being handled by Loving Funeral Home; to view Alan’s memorial tribute page, please visit www.lovingfuneralhome1913.com.
