Mr. Robert Wayne Lawson, age 58, of Covington, died Friday, May 18, 2018, at LewisGale Hospital-Alleghany, Low Moor. He was the husband of Julie Potter Lawson.

Mr. Lawson was born November 6, 1959 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Robert Irvin and Jenny Andrews Lawson.

He was the owner and operator of One Stop Sign Shop. 

In addition to his wife, Julie, Mr. Lawson is survived by a son, John Travis Lawson of Covington; two daughters, Emily Lawson Bennett of Knoxville and Kelly Lawson May of Virginia Beach; two grandchildren, James Cooper Bennett and Lilly Marie May; three brothers, Randy Lee Lawson, Leslie Allen “Buckethead” Lawson and K. Thomas Lawson; one sister, Lisa Carol Lawson Gibner; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson was preceded in death by a brother, Russell Fletcher Lawson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Granbery Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Russ Urban and Rev. B. Failes officiating. 

The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Loving Funeral Home.
